Dear Dr Robert Jack Eardley
Thank you for your invite to the Eardley get together. I am one of six Eardley's, four of which are girls and all of whom hope to be at your get together. My brother Robert will be sending you a photograph of our Grandparents etc.
I was at 18 Glenburn Park, Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland to where you sent your last letter.
I am now at 138 Talbot Drive, Harle Syke, Burnley, Lancashire. England BB10 2RT.
I was born at Porthill in Newcastle Under Lyme but at the age of 6 my Father, James Edward, of Wolstanton moved to a country Public House just outside Audley in 1960 (Waggon and Horses).
We have great ties with Audley including the St James Church . My Mother and Father were married there by Reverend Lewis who also married my eldest sister Susan my brother Robert. I was Christened and confirmed there when I was eighteen.
I thought you may be interested in a book I obtained recently. It is called Eardley's Crewe Almanack and Diary. (It has recorded in it "Queen Victoria died 6:30 pm on the 22/01/1901" It was published by Wilmot Eardley of Chester Bridge, Crewe. (About 6 miles from Audley) I have attached a tif file of the front cover and although the book is quite frail I will ensure I bring it with me next year.
I recently visited your Web Site and would appreciate it if you added my e-mail address to it.
Good luck with your search and thank you for including me.
Best wishes
John Eardley.
