Hello Robert,
My interest in the Eardley clan stems from my paternal grandmother, Isabel
of Newcastle under Lyme.

I dont know the circumstances, but until my father died 3 years ago, he
rarely mentioned his Eardley relations. It was shortly after, that the
birth of my first grandchild prompted me to research my tree. It was only
recently that I made contact with Sue Parker who directed me to your web
page, and subsequently to James in Oxford.

A few visits, some analysis and I was was suddenly back to the early
1800s, but without knowing details of my grandmothers siblings.

At this stage it was time to make contact!

During your time in the UK you may have listened to BBC radio. As I drive
into work each morning I usually listen to Terry Wogan, a well known DJ
and celebrity. Listeners are known as TOGs (Terry's Old Geezers), which gives
some idea of the listening age. TOGs invariably drive Volvos, and are
likely to suffer from Senior Moments, lapses of memory etc.

So as I was making my first attempt to contact the website, (Thomas
William of Newcastle 21st May) and under considerable pressure from my wife to get
off the computer, I unfortunately had a senior moment. With having e-mail
addresses in work and at home, I obviously mixed them up. This was not the
limit of the damage. Some days later my brother in law received a funny
phone call from the USA, where I had entered his telephone number into my
personal details.

Since then I have made several attempts to correct the errors, but have
failed each time. As I was on holiday at the time of the get together, I
have still not resolved the problem. I would appreciate if you could
help me.
