The latest on the reunion

Jack has been in England for the past two weeks arranging meetings with various people concerned with the reunion. The great unknown of course is that we won't know until the day just how many Eardleys will be there on the 15th July. The Church holds something like 400-----so if we have a much larger number than that---and there is every chance of that judging from your resposes so far----then you will appreciate we have to find a way of involving everyone in some way.Jack feels that older people and the disabled should be able to sit down.We know that there are going to be a substantial number of people in this category. If the weather is fine(and we are praying for this)then the cemetery is large enough to allow us all to stand and hear the event which will be broadcast on a PA system.Jack expects that you will understand the difficulty of getting everyone inside. There is a suggestion that we can have a second service following on shortly after the first if that is what numbers of you would prefer---but we will have to play this by ear as again we will not know until the day how best to proceed. We are trying to plan for all situations.I can tell you that a national newspaper plans to cover the story but the details are to worked out later.Hotel space is filling up fast so if you are planning to come from a distance I suggest you don,t leave it too late. The Hilton Hotel in Hanley(formerly the Stakis)is worth a call for a good deal.I understand they may have a buffet at a very reasonable price laid on for us on the weekend. Details to follow as the situation 'firms up'The golf is still on but if you are intending to play please indicate by posting a message on this board. Please look in regularly for the latest updates as changes may occur and Jack would like us all to be aware of them.See you all in July!
