Dear Sue,

My 5xgreat grandmother was Frances Eardley, christened at Audley 19.1.1762. Her parents were Ralph and Catherine and her siblings Margaret 1755, Kitty 1759 and Thomas 1769. Frances married my 5xgreat grandfather Thomas Chaliners (various spellings) on 19.9.1782 and they had 11 children (including 2 sets of twins), all christened at Audley.

I have no reference to Challinors in Audley prior to Thomas in 1782: does anyone know where he came from or where he farmed in the village? Later Challinors farmed at the Brook, Park Lane, Moat and Townhouse farms. I was raised at Higher Ash Farm, Talke.
