I have recently completed a book about the four LDS Eardley brothers who emigrated from Stoke-on-Trent,England to Utah (1850-1869). My focus was my great grandfather Bedson Eardley and his descendants, but there is discussion about all four brothers and their descendants plus a chapter on the Utah Eardley pottery industry. Anyone interested in a copy of the book ($35) please E-mail me. The descendants of the 4 Eardley brothers settled in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, California, Oregon, Montana and Washington. Not all the descendants are Mormon.
When the four brothers came to America, they left two brothers in England, Henry (born 1816 in Tunstall, died 1883, Tunstall) and William (born 1824 in Woodville, Leicestershire, died 1904, Tunstall). Little is known of their descendants and I would appreciate hearing from anyone known to have descended from Henry or William.
These brothers were the sons of Edward Eardley (1795-1840) and Elizabeth Grocott (1791-1839). Edward's father was supposedly Leveson Eardley, but no one has found proof of the existence of Leveson.
Has anyone out there found a record mentioning the name Leveson Eardley (c. 1760-1830). We would really love to prove Edward's father was Leveson Eardley.
I would like to hear for anyone--about the book, Henry or William's descendants, or Leveson Eardley.
Also, I was recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (in a very severe form and I am on Chemotherapy). Unfortunately, this will prevent me from attending the reunion in July. Are there other Eardleys who are suffering from this insidious disease? I would like to hear about alternative treatments that WORK! Thanks.
Thanks, Sheri Eardley Slaughter
