Hello Everyone,

Jack and I would like to update you all on the very latest information on the Flowerdew Get-together.It is set to take place on 24th August this year. This will be the Inaugural Meeting of what will be an Annual affair. My understanding is that all relatives and descendants of those families who first settled Flowerdew in the 1600s are invited to attend. It should be a fascinating gathering----meeting 'in the flesh' descendants of all those pioneers who risked everything to defend Flowerdew and help develop the infant colony. The administators have extended an enthusiastic invitation to all our family members to attend the event. We feel you will wish to be there in strength.

On the Flowerdew section(see Home Page} there is a Form which we can 'print off' which we can use to indicate our interest in attending. We also are invited to become members of The Flowerdew Foundation. The cost is $25.As more information becomes available we will let you have it. The East Window is now complete and is all set for the official Rededication on July 14th in Audley. Also on that day Jack's son Keith and his bride Polly will have their marriage Blessed and Re-read in the Church of England format. It will be an emotional moment for Jack and indeed for all of us who will wish to witness this unique Tranatlantic Return to our Roots.

There is still much research to be done on the Virginia Connection. If you have a little time to spare, within a few days thisnew project will become as compelling as researching our own immediate Family Tree. I have offered a few suggestions to get you started on the latest Flowerdew Section. We are especially keen to find a link to the famous Fragrance Company--Yardley of London, the late Queen Mother's favourite. It is the oldest in the country and has its roots in a part of London close to where Sir George was born.

A furthur update will follow soon. Robert.
