In Response To: Sir George Yeardley (Robert Eardley)

There remain problems with the connection between Sir George and the Eardleys of Eardley Hall.

Ralph Eardley, son of William and Elizabeth Moreton and proposed father of Sir George left a will.

Among other items copyhold land in the hamlet of Talk is disposed of. There is no mention of London OR children. He refers to his wife as 'Alice yerdeley now wiffe of me' which implies a previous marriage, but at the moment the suggestion is that he may have been married three times and none of the dates fit comfortably!

On the other hand Ralph's brother John, the third son, is definitely connected to London as he is recorded as living in 'Fryday Streat with Mr Chaundler in London'.

So there is a real chance that Ralph is Sir George's father but at the moment the case is not proven.
