I guess there are different coat of arms for the Eardley's that moved around. In 1958 I visited Congleton from Canada, while there I ordered a crest of the Eardley Family. It was delivered to me in Canada, made by the "House of Heraldry Ltd, 11 Stamford Arcade, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lanc's. It bears the same motto. But the shield is split into quarters top left yellow right blue bottom left blue b right yellow-band l to r green with three bird yellow. top a sword with a lepard impaled.I had a ring made by Birk's of Toronto who verified that the sword and lepard were authentic. Have never seen that crest only the one in the church of Audley.
