The movie "The New World" doesn't open here until Jan. 20. But as I browse the Internet for lists of cast members, I don't see Sir George Yeardley. The film is based on the recent book "Love and Hate in Jamestown," which did mention Sir George. But the movie focuses on the relationships between the colonists and the Native Americans, especially John Smith and Pocohantas.

NOTE to Eardley family members: For information on the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, go to the website www.Jamestown2007.org. The big celebration will be May 11-13, 2007, but other events begin this spring (2006) and continue through the fall of 2007.
