In 1814 Mary Eardley was robbed of money in Newcastle. The thief was John Wright who was 14 at the time. At the Magistrates Assise he was ordered to be 'privately whipped'.
In 1826 John Eardley and John Frost stole poultry from John Gratton in Norton. John Eardley, who was 17 at the time, was sentenced to prison and hard labour for a month.
There are lots of Eardley references in the Assise records but it made me wonder; whats the most serious crime that an Eardley has committed or been a victim of?
Come on, let's get those skeletons out of the cupboard and start a thread!
