Eardley

I live in Newcastle-under-Lyme, and I have been helping a Richard EARDLEY Atkinson with his family history of Skerratts and Eardleys, etc. He lives in Napanee, Ontario, Canada. His gt. grandmother on his mother's side was SARAH HOPKINS, nee EARDLEY, born Bearstone who died Jan 9th 1886 aged 53.

Sarah's father was DANIEL EARDLEY,died Dec 12th 1883 aged 78. He was born at AUDLEY.

This branch of the EARDLEYS lived at Bearstone, near Mucklestone, Shropshire. I found that in Mucklestone Church there are several wall plaque memorials to various EARDLEYS, including Daniel, his wife Ann, and his daughter Sarah Hopkins, nee Eardley. Also in the graveyard there is an obelisk memorial to Wilmot Eardley.

I have been trying to contact Richard Eardley Atkinson but am getting no reply. No doubt he would have been very interested in the EARDLEY Re-Union if he had known about it.

I would be grateful if someone could look up in the Audley Church registers for the baptism of DANIEL EARDLEY and family round about 1805.
