Just picked up queries about a Wilmot (christian name) Eardley, of whom there were four in 1901 census, all related. Wilmot (b.1890) and Thomas Timmins (b.early 1884) were born in Droitwich, Worcestershire, of William Henry Eardley and Sarah Timmins - her home area. Also had brother William D., sisters Evelyn D. and Helena (b.1894). In 1891 they were in lovely Church Stretton, Shropshire, where Sarah was a schoolmistress. This William was the third child of Samuel and Martha Eardley of Bearstone, near Maer Hills, a few miles south of Audley. This family was John Daniel, Eliza Ann, Wm. H, Samuel George, Herbert, Carrie (b.jan. 1871). Possibly also a James F.; they also had several servants.
Samuel senior was baptised in Audley of Daniel E. and Mary ann Smith (married 24/7/1828). Living at Mucklestone, which covered Bearstone, they had children Samuel, Sarah (1833), John, Mary, Wilmot, and Francis. Also, Daniel, Jane, and Thomas after 1842, but the 1851 census shows many family members missing. Daniel senior appears to be baptised 4/1/1804 of Daniel at Audley. And Sarah was to become Mrs Hopkins.
The Wilmot above , born 1837, was to move to Coppenhall parish, Cheshire, which was to include the new railway town of Crewe. He married Francis Cotton in 1864 - she died 21/11/1887. Then married Ellen (Nellie) in 1889 in Market Drayton- she died 1891 aged 31. Then married Charlotte in Derby, who died 1908. Wilmot died 14/8/1919 aged 82 and is buried at Mucklestone with his three wives. He had been a successful publisher/printer, but apparently had no children.
Hope this helps - pete
