Eardley Day

Hello Everyone,
Firstly, I have just observed that we have passed the magic '100000 hits' to our website. This is a real landmark and we should all congratulate ourselves for making this happen.
With regard to Eardley Day, as those of you who have been observing news of the event on the message board will have deduced ,there have been some communication issues between the parties. When Jack first began making arrangements for the event he had no knowledge of the VE/VJ celebration. He was informed that there would be a normal Service on that day.I believe that everyone acted in good faith, that some confusion has arisen and it ought mot be an issue.
It is my understanding that the VE/VJ celebration will take place on the adjacent Community Centre Car Park Those Eardleys who wish to attend are welcome to join the Service of Celebration. It also presents us with an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of Family Members during WW2.
Afterwards,we can mingle and renew the contacts we made in 2000 and at the Window Celebration. There may be an issue with regard to the band.It is my understanding that the original venue now may be unavilable. An update will be posted very soon.
There are a number of good pub restaurants in the area so if you are considering lunch it should not be too difficult to find a decent location.'The Broughton Arms','Potters Lodge' and the'Plough' at Bignall End are all excellent and are within a mile or so of Audley Centre. You may wish to book in advance.
I will write a further update soon which will tie up any loose ends which remain.God Bless
